Several well-known Hollywood personalities were welcomed by a full house at the Hayti Heritage Center this November to share their journeys and the role of faith in their lives.

Minister Robert Black of Greensboro hosted the free event “Inspired Literature and Music Tour of the Carolinas 2017,” the Hayti Heritage Center on Nov. 4.

The headliner for the event was TV and movie icon Earnest Thomas of “What’s Happening” and “Everybody Hates Chris,” and the movie “Malcolm X.” The American actor discussed his journey as an entertainer and author. He recently published a book, “From Raj to Riches: Overcoming Life Through Faith.”

“So, basically, it’s a testimony of faith and supernatural of what God can do because Christians believe in God but a lot of them don’t believe in the miracles of God, a supernatural Christ, a supernatural God so that is the whole purpose of this book — is a blueprint for success but mainly pointing towards Christ.”

Thomas’s target audience is dreamers, especially the kids. He wants them to know that despite what they go through day to day, whether it’s dealing with issues pertaining to family, school or out in the world, they need faith and dreams.

“I talked to kids at a high school yesterday, now they know about God, they were really excited, and that made me very happy,” said Thomas.

Minister, musician and playwright Laval Belle was also a guest speaker. He discussed his career and the obstacles that he faced in the industry. He is the author of the book title “Your Gifts are Not Your Purpose.”

“This book is a companion to the book that I wrote about 19 years ago and it’s book that helps people determine their natural gift, spiritual gift, talents.”

His target audience is for everyone. He believes that everyone should know “Why he or she was created?” or “What are they here for?”

Belle has played for artists such as Aretha Franklin, Chaka Kahn and Earth, Wind and Fire, just to name a few. He has his own publishing company called “Noah’s Ark Publishing Services.” Belle never thought that writing books would be a part of his career. Writing was never his favorite subject in school.

“I believe that it was an assignment for me,” he said.

Black started Product Production and Management Company seven years ago. The company is a production and management agency for Christian artists, authors and musicians that can come together and promote the “Kingdom Sound” in the community as believers.

“What made me start this company is based on the need for truth and integrity, also creating a positive impact for those that need help and support with their goals and management influence or guidance in a positive and Christian environment,” said Black.

The company’s mission is to encourage practical and spiritual growth through the vehicle of Christian production and Christian artist management. PP&MC vision is to be “Locked in together in ministry.” The values are respect, spirituality, excellence and partnership.

“My goal is to assist, coach, consult, build viable relationships, build national and international platforms for those I manage and assist. Also, I will continue to have praise and worship symposiums, book tours, Christian conferences for the world.”

The crowd showed their excitement by recording videos and taking pictures on their phones. The house was packed with people who were ready to worship and share their testimonies amongst the public.  After the event, the authors signed books for their fans.
