About Ilia Young

Ilia Young is a third-year Journalism and Public Policy double major and Social and Economic Justice minor at Carolina. She’s lived across the country as a part of a military family growing up, but most recently resided in Winston-Salem, NC. Her main reporting interests include covering performing arts and housing crises affecting local residents. Having worked extensively in on-campus housing advocacy, Ilia is ready to branch out and cover a wider community in this sector. She is excited to come back to writing for those who matter the most- our next door neighbors. Outside of covering local happenings, Ilia enjoys creating social media content for her student organizations, crocheting and spending time with her cats.
