About Joshawna Bethea

Originally from Fayetteville, NC, Joshawna Bethea is a senior at UNC-Chapel Hill majoring in Media and Journalism with a minor in Social and Economic Justice. While she plans to pursue a career in advertising and public relations, traditional journalism has always held a special place in her heart. At the core of her work is a passion for storytelling, whether through design, strategic campaigns, public relations, or journalism, and its ability to inform, connect, and advocate for communities. Throughout her time at Carolina, Joshawna has explored the many ways communication can be used as a tool for impact. Her experiences span graphic design, public relations, public service, community engagement, and strategic communications, allowing her to approach storytelling from both a creative and people-centered perspective. She is particularly drawn to work that amplifies overlooked voices and makes complex information feel accessible and relevant.
