About Oanh Nguyen

Oanh Nguyen is a junior majoring in Information Science (BS) and Media & Journalism (BA). Oanh believes that embracing diverse perspectives is one of the most enriching aspects of life. For them, journalism is the ideal platform to connect with and share stories from people whose experiences and backgrounds are far beyond their own. They are passionate about exploring cultures, traditions, and customs both locally in their home state and across the world. This semester, Oanh is excited to highlight a story from their home community of Durham. They feel strongly that there are many voices in their area that have been overlooked by mainstream media, and they are eager to bring attention to those untold stories.
