About Melodi Carty

Melodi Carty is a senior from Shelby, North Carolina, majoring in Media and Journalism with minors in Music and African, African American and Diasporic Studies at UNC-Chapel Hill. She is a reporter for The Durham Voice interested in covering the Bull City arts scene. As a previous reporter for UNC’s student radio show, Carolina Connection, Melodi believes the heartbeat of every community is its connection to the arts. After graduation, she hopes to continue sharing local stories that matter, whether that be through written or audio journalism.
