About Cassius Khan

Cassius Khan is a junior at UNC Chapel Hill  majoring in Journalism and Sociology. Though born in New York City, he has called Cary, NC home since 2016. His passion for social justice brought him to journalism, where he works to amplify the voices that society has tried to silence. This same interest has brought him to the Durham Voice, and he hopes to serve the community through his writing. Along with previous in-class experience doing feature writing and photojournalism, he had the pleasure to intern at CBS-17 earlier in the summer, where he covered topics from Raleigh Pride to the cyclospora outbreak. When he isn’t writing news, he is usually writing short stories, the rough draft of his novel, or poetry.
